Drum Fusion Drum Class at the CSUF Titan Recreation Center

Thursdays, Sept. 11th - Oct. 16th, 7-8:30PM, $38 (non-member) for the series

Community drumming has been a way of life in communities across the globe since the beginning of time.  As part of our DNA, it awakens our natural ability to reduce stress, strengthen the immune system and release endorphins that leave us with an over all sense of well being. Group drumming is an excellent workout and has the amazing ability to relax and invigorate simultaneously.  Participants will walk away feeling fantastic!  

In this class we will explore:  

• The benefits of drumming for the mind, body & spirit

• The Djembe & Dunun (bass) drums – their origin, how to play them and apply technique

• Traditional West African rhythms for the djembe and bass drums

• Freestyle, universal rhythms that can be used for drum circles or just for fun anytime

• Specific exercises & techniques to help develop and strengthen our inner rhythm

 No rhythmical or musical experience necessary.  All drums and percussion are provided, but you have your own, please bring it!
