The plain, simple fact is - you cannot drum and not feel happy!  Group drumming can transcend anger, depression and even illness.  There are scientific studies that prove a variety of phenomenal effects from drumming.  One of the most impressive studies comes from Dr. Barry Bittman.  His study actually found cancer killing cells in subjects after a brief period of time drumming together.  These cells were not present prior, thusly undeniably proving what our ancestors already knew instinctively - drumming heals!  It also unites and empowers participants to experience themselves as a valuable contribution to a rhythm orchestra, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, age, social status, religious views, political association...and without needing any musical background whatsoever.
